My Story
I was introduced to gaming at a very young age. One of my earliest memories is of playing through Pokémon Red and trading with my friends at school. Later on I would discover online gaming with World of Warcraft, a game I still play to this day. And what drew me to these games wasn’t just the experience of playing them. It was the communities that developed around shared interests and goals. I knew early on that games would always be an important part of who I am, but it wasn’t until later in my life that I was inspired to pursue game development.
Much of my professional life has been focused on project management. As a project manager I helped teams build websites and execute marketing campaigns from a local to national scale. Just as I experienced with gaming, what excited me the most was working with other people, solving problems for individuals so they could work together to deliver their best work.
In 2022 I took a step back to evaluate my career, feeling that something was missing. A friend suggested I put my organizational skills to use and participate in a game jam, and that was when I had my “Aha!” moment. It had never occurred to me that I could combine my passion for meaningful gaming experiences with my love of problem solving and team management. Since then I’ve worked with several game development teams.
While I love working on all types of games, I’m drawn the most to ones developed with an accessibility-first mindset alongside an impactful narrative and diverse, interesting cast of characters. It also helps if the game is a little weird. Does this sound like your project? Let’s talk.
